Welcome
This is the website of Augmented Intelligent Systems Lab. (Uwano Lab.) webpage at Institute of Engineering, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology.
Our laboratory explores Augmented Intelligent Systems, a research field that extends intelligence, i.e., software, to machines, i.e., hardware, and the environments surrounding them, with the aim of designing intelligence at the level of entire systems. In particular, we study design methodologies for intelligent robots that integrate smoothly into the real world using artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Specifically, we focus on reinforcement learning, a branch of machine learning, and apply it to adaptation under uncertainty in robotic perception and coordination in multi-robot systems. In collaboration with researchers and engineers from the National Maritime Research Institute and Panasonic Holdings Corporation, we also extend our research to applications such as multi-vessel navigation and route planning for aerial delivery robots. For details, please see our research topics.
We welcome various forms of collaboration, including joint research and laboratory affiliation. If you are interested in our research or feel that there may be a potential connection with your work, please contact us using the email address on the access page.
